Gibson praises BB King
Posted on 18 Sep 2009 15:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

According to the company, many of the music legend's songs have gone on to become blues standards, while the man himself has inspired generations of electric guitar players.
However, Gibson noted that lots of his more obscure tracks are also good showcases for his guitar playing ability, such as 1958's Recession Blues.
King was said to be playing "stinging licks" on his electric guitar, while singing lyrics that feel "uncomfortably current" in today's economic climate.
Ghetto Woman, which features Klaus Voorman on bass guitar, along with Ringo Starr and Jim Keltner on the drums, was flagged up as another good example of his talent.
This 1971 rarity was praised for featuring some of King's most "languid" and "graceful" electric guitar playing.
Gibson added that at 84 years of age, King is still attracting new fans and playing over 100 shows every year.
This comes shortly after Gibson described the blues guitarist as "legendary" following his successful gig at Wembley Arena in London during the summer.
