Gibson names famous Firebird electric guitar players
Posted on 17 Jul 2009 11:27 to category : Instruments News

According to the manufacturer, the Firebird has never achieved the prominence that models such as the Gibson SG have enjoyed over the years.
However, it said it remains an iconic electric guitar that has been embraced by a number of prominent musicians.
Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, for instance, was described as an "advocate of quirky guitars" who used the Firebird on several occasions, such as during the recording of Beggar's Banquet.
Sir Paul McCartney - who is perhaps best known for playing bass guitar or an Epiphone Casino - was said to have used the instrument as well.
Gibson noted that the former Beatle used a Firebird to perform the "searing, edgy, emotive solo" on Maybe I'm Amazed - which appeared on his first solo album in 1970.
Fans of the Firebird were praised for being "players who had the vision and the courage to step way outside the mainstream, both in their music and their gear choices".
