Gibson hails capos
Posted on 5 Nov 2009 14:00 to category : Instruments News

Electric guitar manufacturer Gibson has hailed the humble capo as one of the most indispensible guitar accessories.
According to the company, the capo is an extremely useful piece of equipment that helps musicians play in many different styles and tunings.
However, Gibson believes that despite its versatility and regular usage, it does not get enough appreciation.
The manufacturer said capos are especially popular with country guitarists, as well as blues slide players who use open tunings.
In addition, it noted that they are also very handy tools for people who have only started learning to play an electric or acoustic guitar.
"A capo makes it possible to play a great many songs in a wide range of keys with knowledge of only a few basic chords," Gibson commented.
This comes after Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band told the Fender website that talent and rhythm are not necessary attributes for aspiring guitarists.
