Electric guitar player Jimmy Page has been praised by Gibson for his extensive discography.
The rock legend had already achieved success on numerous records before achieving global stardom with Led Zeppelin.
For instance, Page was formerly a member of The Yardbirds, a group which had previously included names such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.
Gibson said that it was during his tenure in this band that he made his name as a unique musician, pioneering his trademark of playing an electric guitar with a violin bow.
Page's collaboration with former Free and Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers in the 1980s was also flagged up as a notable moment in his career.
However, The Firm split up after releasing two albums, the first of which included hit single Radioactive.
Last year, Page performed alongside Leona Lewis at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games, playing electric guitar on the Led Zeppelin classic Whole Lotta Love.
