Gibson boss dismisses takeover rumours

Electric guitar manufacturer Gibson has dismissed speculation that it is to be taken over by Peavey.
Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman of the company, said it is continuing to make a profit and has increased its market share during the last few months.
He has therefore moved to reject the "persistent rumours" of a possible takeover from rival electric guitar firm Peavey.
Speaking to Mi Pro, he said they originate from an individual source and are "simply not true".
"Gibson is doing very well - we are really feeling good," he insisted.
"While we were affected by the economic downturn, we continue to be profitable."
Mr Juszkiewicz added that Gibson will continue to take pride in offering consumers the very best and most innovative electric guitars on the market.
Gibsons have been the electric guitar of choice for many prominent musicians over the years, including Jimmy Page, Robbie Krieger, Pete Townshend and BB King.
