Gibson acoustic guitars used by Staind star for solo work
Staind star Aaron Lewis made use of Gibson acoustic guitars as he took a new musical direction for solo EP Town Line.
Speaking to the Gibson Lifestyle blog, Lewis explained that the record has a country music vibe, which was inspired by listening to the likes of Hank Williams and George Jones when his band were on tour with Kid Rock.
He said that he had turned to his range of Gibson acoustic guitars when he decided to write new material in this genre.
"I have an affinity for old, beat-up guitars. They have songs in them. They kind of write the songs all by themselves," Lewis stated.
He added that the new project will not affect his work with the rest of Staind, as the group have a new album in the pipeline.
"Most of it is done, I just have to go in and do the lyrics and the melodies. That could possibly be out at the end of summer," the musician revealed.
Lewis is set to take his acoustic guitars on the road next month as he embarks on a sizeable solo tour of the US.
The run of gigs will begin in Detroit on March 3rd.
