Gibson Les Paul Standard 'ages well'
Posted on 14 May 2009 13:35 to category : Band / Celebrity News
The Gibson Les Paul Standard is not an electric guitar that gets steadily worse with age, one rock star has suggested.
Allison Robertson of The Donnas told Gibson's Jerry McCulley that she has been playing hers non-stop for a decade and claimed that it now "sounds better than ever", following a few tweaks to the neck that were required after she recently dropped it.
"It's aged beautifully and molded to my fingers and body perfectly," she remarked.
In addition to the Les Paul Standard, she revealed that she loves to play the Explorer Pro when on stage, with its ultra-fast neck and "killer pickups" making it ideal for quicker and heavier rock music.
Robertson is currently performing in Los Angeles as part of all-female supergroup Chelsea Girls, along with former Hole and Motley Crue member Samantha Maloney.
They are next scheduled to play at the legendary Roxy Theatre on June 6th.
