Gibson Flying V features on Slash's second studio album
Slash, known for his distinctive curly hair, sunglasses and hat look, took to the social networking site to tease fans of the star with news he is back in the recording studio.
He tweeted: "Listening to demos we recorded last week. Some tighter than others but sounding good. 14 songs together so far. 3 more to go."
His bassist Todd Kerns backed up the news with an announcement on his blog.
"Back when I was originally asked to support [Slash] on his first solo tour, I wasn't sure if it would be a month or maybe fly-outs on weekends or what," he said.
"Now here we are a year and a half later and we're getting ready to record a new CD as a band. [I] did not see that coming."
Slash also revealed on Twitter that his latest acquisition, a Gibson Flying V reissue, will feature on one track.
In 2004, Total Guitar ranked his epic performance on Sweet Child o' Mine as their number one on their 100 Greatest Riffs of all time.
