Gibson ES-335 player praises instrument
Posted on 11 Aug 2009 13:30 to category : Instruments News

Speaking to the Gibson website, the Indigo Girls guitarist said she customised her ES-335 by adding a third pick-up to the body of her instrument.
This, she stated, means it is now capable of generating an "unbelievable" range of sounds.
The Indigo Girls are perhaps best known for their acoustic guitar-based records, although the band have used electrics more and more in recent years.
Ray cited artists such as the B-52s, Blondie and The Clash as major inspirations, along with Neil Young.
"His solos are so simple and direct, but sound so full of meaning," she commented.
Ray added that she mainly plays rhythm on her electric guitar, as she still considers herself a novice when it comes to lead.
This comes shortly after the Epiphone Dot ES-335, a low-cost version of the Gibson ES-335, was named the best budget electric guitar in a poll by MusicRadar.
