Giant Gibson Les Pauls feature on Sunset Strip

A public art project featuring 26 giant Les Paul guitars was unveiled on Hollywood's renowned Sunset Strip last week.
The Guitar Town Sunset Strip event began with a vintage car parade and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunset Boulevard.
All the featured guitar sculptures were created by local artists to commemorate celebrities and musicians associated with the Sunset Strip.
Some notable choices included The Doors, Motley Crue, Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys was also commemorated, Â who was also present at the event.
Guitar Town Sunset Strip will be featured for six months, at which time the guitars will be put up for auction. All proceeds raised by the sales will go to charities and non-profit organisations.
The event comes in the wake of an announcement by Jim Henke, curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, who said Les Paul's innovations had changed the world of music.
