Gene Simmons pops the big question live on TV
Gene Simmons has finally proposed to his partner of 28 years by popping the question on his hit reality TV show.
The legendary rocker from the US rock band Kiss asked former Playboy playmate Shannon Tweed to marry him in the season finale of Gene Simmons' Family Jewels.
Simmons, 61, who is rumoured to have bedded 4,600 women during his heyday has always insisted that he was never the type of man to marry, but after nearly 30 years with Tweed, 54, he has finally had a change of heart.
Speaking to his long-term partner, he said: "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love.
"I've never said those words to anybody. And I don't ever want to...funny, I used to watch movies where they say I can't live without you, but for me it's true. Please marry me."
Earlier on in the show viewers got to see a nervous Simmons discussing his plans with his two children, both of whom supported the decision enthusiastically.
Kiss have been together since 1973 and are famous for their black and white face paint and flamboyant costumes.
