Legendary rock group Gang of Four have said that their seventh album is a simple mix of guitar, vocals, bass and drums.
The post-punk group, who formed in the late 1970s, will release Content on October 4th 2010, preceding it with a single titled Who Am I? on September 13th 2010.
Explaining the themes of their back-to-basics album, the band said: "What we strive for in all of our songs is to interpret the world in a way you haven't seen nor thought of before."
Since splitting in 1984, the group have reformed numerous times, first in the 1990s and then in 2004.
Although they have never scored big chart hits, Gang Of Four have been cited as a major influence by plenty of bands who have.
REM and Red Hot Chili Peppers are known to be fans, while Franz Ferdinand's angular guitar sound can be traced back to the Leeds band's early records.
