Fuzz pedals 'used by electric guitar greats'
Some of the greatest players of the electric guitar employed fuzz pedals while recording, it has been explained.
Dave Hunter, a contributor to the Gibson Lifestyle blog, explained that the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton all used the pieces of musical equipment in the past.
"Good fuzz pedals can sound very organic when used right and can interact beautifully with a cranked tube amp to produce a broad palette of overdrive tones, from mild crunch to full-on sting," he went on to state.
Mr Hunter said there has been a large-scale renaissance in the use of fuzz pedals by electric guitarists in the past ten years or so, with manufacturers bringing out renditions of those used in the 1960s as well as more up-to-date models.
