Fun pop star Kesha
Kesha wants to have fun with her music - for now.
The 23-year-old singer admits her influences are far-ranging and very different from her signature pop sound, but at the moment she just wants to make uplifting songs.
She said: "Coming from Nashville, I love Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and want to make those records too. But right now, it's my 'fk off', fun period and I'm gonna enjoy it."
Kesha - who recently released her debut LP 'Animal' - has been compared to several other young female pop stars but insists she is a unique artist.
She previously said: "I just don't get the Lady Gaga or Katy Perry comparisons at all. I don't sing like them or dress like them."
Meanwhile, the 'Tik Tok' singer has been flirting with John Mayer on twitter.
The pop beauty and the musician have been exchanging messages on the micro-blogging site and it seems Kesha is wasting no time in getting to know the notorious ladies man.
John kicked off the cyber relationship by tweeting: "Dear Kesha, you have won me over with your tricks and charms and I must tell you I really like your song.
"Though I must add I tried brushing with a bottle of Jack and I chipped a tooth on the glass. Where might I remit an invoice?"
Kesha soon responded to John's messages, writing: "dear john mayerrr. Don't be a little bh wit ur chit chat. Just show me whur ur d*k's at. X (sic)"Posted on 3 Mar 2010 07:00 to category : Music News
