Friendly Fires: We're off to Sweden to work in a log cabin
The hit Brit brand, who hail from St Albans in Hertfordshire, told BBC 6 Music that they were looking to seclude themselves from the world to get some proper inspiration.
"We're off for ten days just to be away from everything and do the exploratory music making, we will see how it goes," said Edd Gibson, the band's guitarist.
The reason for Sweden, explained singer Ed Macfarlane, is that they are used to making good music in "secluded, quite bleak places".
"I kind of like the idea that we will spend enough time together that we'll either come out of the end of it absolutely hating each other or come back with something that's completely different from anything we've done before," he told BBC 6 Music.
Their last studio album was released last year and was entitled Pala, a name which comes from the English writer Aldous Huxley's last novel, Island.
