Freebass release debut EP
The Manchester supergroup comprised of the bass guitar players from New Order, The Smiths and The Stone Roses have released their first collection of songs.
Freebase have put out a four-track EP called Two Worlds Collide, which also features vocals from Tim Burgess, the frontman of The Charlatans.
When the group was formed five years ago, the original plan for Peter Hook, Andy Rourke and Mani was to collaborate with world-famous rock stars such as Billy Corgan and Liam Gallagher, reports the Guardian.
But Hook told BBC 6 Music that the plan did not work out due to scheduling clashes.
"We asked them but we're all jobbing musicians so it's impossible to fit it in," the bass guitar player said. "We had Liam at one point but you really just can't fit it in."
Last month, Hook opened a new club in Manchester, FAC251, which is situated on the grounds of the former Factory Records offices.Posted on 28 Mar 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
