Free iRig Recorder released for Android mobile phones

Audio recording and editing app available for Android phones
Great deals on musical instruments
IK Multimedia has launched a new music application targeted at Android phones.

The iRig Recorder is an audio recording and editing app that turns an Android device into a “professional field recorder”, according to a statement from the firm.

The Italian company, founded in the mid 1990s, also says that the new app allows you to record interviews, classes, lectures or anything else with “outstanding quality”. Marketed as simple to use, you can customise it to launch and start recording from the off-set.

The iRig Recorder app, although announced in January, has only just become available. It is free to download, but purchasing various editing and effects add-ons for $4.99 (£3.31), will allow users to do more with the app.

IK Multimedia released the first Fender licensed and approved software in 2009.

iRig was originally released in 2010 and was the first guitar and bass interface for iOS, quickly exceeding a million downloads. It was followed by more apps for the iPhone and tools for the iPad and iPod.
