Footballer releases new album
A Scottish Premier League footballer is hoping his skills on the acoustic guitar is going to win him an entirely different set of fans.
Kevin Rutkiewicz, a defender who plays for St Johnstone, has just brought out new album Handwritten.
He explained to STV that he had decided to make the record after getting a serious knee injury that kept him out of football for a long period.
"I found I had a lot of time on my hands and decided to do something productive, said Rutkiewicz. "I had learned to play guitar about six years beforehand and just found myself writing songs."
The star said his musical inspirations include the likes of Paolo Nutini and KT Tunstall.
He is not the only footballer to have musical leanings – earlier this year Chelsea player Florent Malouda told the Sun that he has formed a new band with his teammate Didier Drogba.
