Foo Fighters to tour garages
Foo Fighters will play a series of shows in fans' garages next month.
The 'Rope' rockers - who recorded their latest album 'Wasting Light' in frontman Dave Grohl's own garage in California - are holding a competition which will see them play intimate shows for eight winners and 50 of their friends at their own homes.
Dave and his bandmates - Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear - are looking for garages to play in or near New York, Denver, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle, Minneapolis and Toronto.
To enter the competition, fans are asked to send a picture of their garage and explain in 25 words or less why they deserve to have the 'All My Life' hitmakers turn up to play.
Singer and guitarist Dave has previously said Foo Fighters recorded 'Wasting Light' at his home because he wanted to take the band back to their roots.
He explained: "The process was so simple. It was really in my garage. You could put a mini-van in there and that's it.
"It just sounds massive. It's different to any other Foo Fighters album because it just sounds big. It was really inspiring."
'Wasting Light' is released on April 12.Posted on 21 Mar 2011 10:00 to category : Music News
