Foo Fighters to return to studio in September
Electric guitar player Dave Grohl has revealed Foo Fighters are to begin recording their seventh studio album in September.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Grohl, who is currently behind the drums in side project Them Crooked Vultures, revealed that Foo Fighters are writing together ahead of their return.
The electric guitar player was speaking at the Independent Spirit Awards in which he presented rock band Anvil with the Best Documentary prize for the film made about their touring exploits.
Grohl said that he had been inspired by the group's struggles for success something that mirrored the start of his own career.
"I was touched by that movie so profoundly as a musician," he said. "I grew up in suburban Virginia I worked in a furniture warehouse, I played in a punk rock band."
The prolific Grohl has also recently been involved with the other group of Taylor Hawkins, the drummer in the Foo Fighters.
