1,000 Foo Fighters fans comprising of drummers, bassists, guitarists and singers converged in Cesena, Italy, to collectively perform the band’s hit song Learn To Fly in a bid to bring the band to the City – and it may just have worked.

The performance was filmed and went viral online, such as the strength of the standard and unique nature of the performance.

The band stood up and took notice, by sharing the video and posting “Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena.... xxx Davide”, which translates as “See you soon, Cesena.... David xxx”.

However, the band featuring Ashdown endorser Nate Mendel and Gretsch snare drum endorser Taylor Hawkins haven’t officially confirmed a show northern Italy.

Preparations to lure the band to Italy took a year through rehearsal, crowd-funding, auditioning and promotion along with €40,000 to help pay for the event.

Meanwhile, Dave Grohl has returned to playing shows in the USA after he broke his leg in Sweden earlier this year.
