Folk music programme change for BBC radio
Posted on 19 Oct 2012 16:36 to category : Music News

Now folk will be the subject of a Radio 2 programme hosted by the present host of Mark Radcliffe's Music Club and 6 Music's Radcliffe and Maconie, Mark Radcliffe.
Radcliffe is a fan of the genre, according to a BBC statement, with his show replacing Mike Harding's current Wednesday evening offering, which also takes a folk theme.
"Anyone who knows me, or has seen one of my gigs, knows how steeped in folk I am and it is a joy to be able to combine work and pleasure like this," Mr Radcliffe said.
He added that he knows that the man he is replacing is much-loved, saying Harding: "is a friend and someone I respect enormously and I really want to pay tribute to the sterling job he's done on the Folk Show for so long."
