Focusrite's Clarett 8PreX Takes Part In Interface Shootout
The performance was captured via three of the most popular Thunderbolt interfaces, the Clarett 8PreX , Apogee Ensemble and UAD Apollo 8p. The test was devised in order to investigate how each interface compared to one another when subjected to a blind listening exam.
Once the recording had been completed, a number of renowned Berlin studio professionals were invited to conduct a live listening test. Once the listening test had taken place, the judges were asked provide their opinion as to which the best interface was and why they chose the specific product, giving specific reasons that helped them reach their decision.
Speaking of the experiment Focusrite said
" We replaced all interface names with X,Y and Z and, like the recording, the playback levels and conditions were set up to be identical. Plus we made sure the participants could instantly switch between the recordings made with each Thunderbolt audio interface."
With noticeable differences between each of the interfaces, the judges carefully deliberated over who was going to be crowned the victor of the shootout, taking each of the interfaces many attributes into consideration. Ultimately, the decision was reached that the winning Interface was interface X, the Focusrite Clarett 8PreX Thunderbolt Audio Interface.
Speaking of the Clarett 8Prex'S victory the judges stated:
" The quality is outstanding on all three of them, there's no doubt, but with X... there's no comparison, it's the strongest."
