Fleet Foxes new album 'inspired by nicotine patches'
Fleet Foxes front man Robin Pecknold has said the sound of the group's new album has been partly inspired by experiences he had from wearing nicotine patches.
Helplessness Blues, which will be released in May, is the second studio record from the Seattle rockers, after their self-titled debut in 2008.
Pecknold, speaking to NME, noted that dreams he had while trying to stay off cigarettes played a part in the writing process.
"It [kind of] got to the point where I'd put a nicotine patch on before going to bed to see what would happen," he added.
The singer observed that sleeping in this manner was "fun" and he was able to use the "vivid" visions he experienced during this time to enhance his penmanship.
Fleet Foxes will be going on an extensive European tour to promote their latest long player, with stops planned at many UK cities, including London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
They will be playing in France on July 2nd, followed by Belgium, Portugal and Finland, before heading back to the North America.
Some of songs that helped make them famous Sun It Rises, Tiger Mountain Peasant Song and Meadowlarks.
