Festival gets young people jamming with music instruments
Posted on 8 Aug 2011 17:57 to category : Instruments News

A three-day music festival with a twist has a special stage specifically aimed at getting children involved with various music instruments.
The Kids Music Adventure area, which will form part of the Bohemian Nights NewWestFest in the US, is a specially designed interactive stage that gets children involved with music in a number of fun-filled ways, reported Coloradoan.com.
This includes things like learning about the science of music, making music instruments and taking part in various workshops and activities.
Speaking to the online news provider, Happy Bennett, a mum who brings her kids to the festival every year praised the music instrument "petting zoo", which basically gets young people up-close and personal with instruments they wouldn't usually have access to.
She said: "I think a lot of the time instruments are taught to be respected and it's very don't touch. Here they can touch things."
This includes playing with a tuba, bongos and guitars.
One of the highlights of the three-day event is the science sound station, where children can feel, see and hear sound waves.
Jack Smith, an eight-year-old Staffordshire boy, has been banned from playing the drums between certain hours by his local by a local court after his neighbours complained about the noise.
