Festival expert talks band get-togethers
In an interview with NME, Festival Republic's Melvin Benn comments that Oasis, the band that featured Noel and Liam Gallagher, should return to making music.
"Whether we wait until 2015, 2020 or 2040 I don't know, but it'd be nice if it happened at some point," he declared.
However, he did add that, in his view, the band shouldn't rush towards this moment.
A fan of the group, he said that he had always really enjoyed their live performances.
Oasis had hits with the likes of Wonderwall and Some Might Say.
Meanwhile, their fellow Manchester music makers The Smiths were not on Mr Benn's list of potential get-togethers.
"I'm sure grown men would cry if it happened but I wouldn't want to see them reforming," he said.
The Smiths are known for tracks such as This Charming Man and There is a Light That Never Goes Out, while their albums include The Queen is Dead and Meat is Murder.
Lead singer Morrissey released solo singles such as Every Day is Like Sunday and First of the Gang to Die.
