Fender tops electric guitar poll

Instrument manufacturer Fender has enjoyed success in a recent poll of consumers, it has emerged.
A poll conducted by music news provider MI Pro saw the firm top three categories in terms of popularity and come second in a further two.
In the Mi Pro 2009 survey, Fender's USA Standard Stratocaster was voted as being the best selling electric guitar over £500, with over 42 per cent of the votes.
The Gibson Les Paul came second in this category, securing six per cent.
Meanwhile, Fender's Squire P-Bass came out came out top in the bass guitar under £500 category.
In addition, its Standard Stratocaster was placed second in the category of electric guitars under £500. The winner of the section was the Gibson Epiphone Les Paul, which secured 19 per cent of the votes.
Recently, Fender won MusicRadar's prize for having the coolest stand at the NAMM 2009 instrument showcase.
