Fender launches Sheryl Crow signature Telecaster
The company has only made 60 of the instruments with Crow already signing and donating one to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in October 2012 in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Building on the success on the 1959 guitar, the Custom Telecaster brings together top and back binding which when Fender first launched the axe, was an innovative and bold statement from the company.
Crow's story begins in 1994 when prior to setting out on her first solo tour she had all her instruments, including the 1959 Custom, stolen meaning that she had to use her backup guitar.
It was not until a show in Texas that a fan approached her with a Custom Telecaster that had been his mother's who had died from cancer, Crow still treasures the guitar today and the limited-edition Fender recognises this moment.
Crow recently collaborated with Kid Rock on 2011's single We Collide, but it only ranked at a disappointing #33 on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
