Fender Stratocaster 'is a modern icon'

According to MusicRadar, the electric guitar is still a legendary instrument and remains Leo Fender's "crowning glory".
The website noted that the instrument has been favoured by many of the world's top rock guitarists over the years, such as Pete Townshend, Robbie Robertson and Buddy Guy.
David Gilmour of Pink Floyd was named as another prominent Strat player, thanks in part to his famous black electric guitar.
MusicRadar highlighted Comfortably Numb and Shine On You Crazy Diamond as two good examples of the "sound Gilmour gets out of his Stratocasters".
Indeed, it said these two records are very popular with Strat aficionados.
Gilmour was recently described by Gibson as one of the most overlooked electric guitar players in the world.
The manufacturer praised him for conjuring up "beautiful" solos that lifted Pink Floyd's best work to "dizzying heights".
