Epiphone looks to the past for its new electric guitars
Posted on 1st Sep 2009 11:48 to category Instruments News
Epiphone has looked to the past for inspiration when putting together its 2010 product range.
It is to release 11 electric guitars, two acoustic guitars and a bass guitar next year, with many of the new lines based on classic models from yesteryear.
Among them is the limited edition reissue of the 1959 Les Paul Standard, which is an accurate replica of the 50-year-old model, complete with BurstBucker pickups and baseball bat neck.
It will also be releasing a reproduction of the 1966 Epiphone Wilshire and two versions of its Casino model inspired by John Lennon - one based on the electric guitar he used during the recording of Revolver and another on the instrument he played on The Beatles.
The new range also includes a 12-string acoustic guitar based on the 1962 Epiphone Bard and named after Roy Orbison's 1964 number one smash Oh Pretty Woman, and the Graveyard Disciple, a coffin-shaped electric guitar designed by Zakk Wylde.
