Elvis acoustic guitar highlight of new exhibition
A new exhibition at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix will be showcasing some of the items Elvis wore and used during his career when it opens on August 6th.
One of the key items of the show, entitled Elvis Presley: Three Decades of the King, will be an acoustic guitar that was used by the King of Rock n' Roll on his final concert tour in 1977.
The exhibition will become a permanent fixture in the museum's Artist Gallery, which showcases some of the music instruments, personal items and significant artifacts used and owned by some of most popular icons who have graced the music industry.
MIM has been a huge success since it opened up in April 2010 and has so far seen 270,000 visitors walk through its doors.
Chris Bell, chief development officer at MIM, told Ahwatukee Foothills News: "MIM is the world's first truly global musical instrument museum.
"Guests at MIM are engaged and immersed in the sounds and sights of the instruments being played in their cultural context through the use of state-of-the-art audio and video technology."
