Elton John commissions million dollar piano
The show will cleverly be called The Million Dollar Piano, after the luxurious music instrument.
Yamaha's specially-created piano took four years to build and there will only be two ever made; one for Elton and one which will be auctioned for charity.
"A major visual component of the overall experience, this custom-made, state-of-the-art piano will be a stunning addition to Elton's show," said Chris Gero, vice president and head of the Yamaha Entertainment Group.
"We think people will be blown away when they see the entire production on stage."
Elton's Million Dollar Piano show will debut on September 28th and run for 16 shows.
Tickets went on sale on Monday April 25th
Previously, Yamaha created a special piano for the musician's The Red Piano show, which kicked off in February 2004.
The Red Piano, which saw Elton belting out hits such as Bennie and the Jets, Rocket Man and Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me, was also taken on a European tour throughout 2007 and 2009.
