Ellie Goulding 'surprised' by success
Welsh acoustic guitar player Ellie Goulding has revealed she became a musician partly by accident.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the singer-songwriter said she used to perform a lot when she was much younger, but always expected to get a "normal" job.
However, she ended up managing to get a publishing deal and eventually progressed to the point where she is now on the verge of stardom.
Indeed, Goulding recently won the Critics' Choice award at the Brits and has been widely tipped to rise to prominence in 2010.
"I had no idea my life would turn out like this," she commented.
Goulding added that she started making demos of her songs when she was 15 years old, but only started recording properly about three years later.
Earlier this month, Goulding was included in the BBC's Sound of 2010 list, which highlights the rising stars music fans should watch out for.
The BBC described her sound as a mixture of Kate Bush, Bjork and Stevie Nicks, with passionate lyrics and distinctive vocals.Posted on 30 Dec 2009 17:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
