Elektron reveal more details of the Octatrack

Innovative synth and sequencer manufacturer Elektron have conducted an interview with the user forum, revealing even more groundbreaking details of the Octatrack sampler.
Speaking to a member of the Elektron User's Forum, Jon from Elektron highlighted several key exciting features of the new sampler.
The Octatrack features 8 stereo tracks, with all samples streamed from a Compact Flash card.
The samples can be time-stretched without changing the tempo of the sample, and can be pitch shifted in real time.
Each track features 2 effect blocks which can be assigned to various effects, with an independent LFO routable to any of the track's parameters.
One of the most revolutionary features is the introduction of "scenes" - these contain specific parameter values for all tracks that Jon described as "a sort of giant parameter lock."
By assigning the scenes to the cross fader musicians can quickly fade between two parameter values meaning a lot of interesting results can be had.
Jon went on to say, "the setup page settings will affect the available parameters on the track page.
"This makes the Octatrack more customizable, but without compromising usability."
A lot of people are comparing the Octatrack to the Akai MPC, but Jon feels that the comparison isn't wholly accurate.
"The main difference is the speed of the workflow and the extensive sample manipulation possibilities.
"Just like the Machinedrum and Monomachine we opted to implement a very friendly user interface.
"The Octatrack will work as a standalone instrument, but many people are claiming it's most appreciated in a full setup with the Monomachine and Machinedrum.
"The four inputs, configured as two stereo pairs, of the Octatrack will of course be useful when connecting them all together."
In addition, a USB port allows for straightforward and quick adding of samples to the machine, meaning workflow is always fast and fun.
