Electric guitars 'should be cleaned regularly'
Musicians should look to clean their electric guitars on a fairly regular basis, it has been advised.
According to Gibson.com contributor Peter Hodgson, when conducting such a task, it is important to use the right cleaning solution for the guitar's particular finish and furniture polish should be avoided.
He added that a clean rag can be employed on the fretboard and headboard to get rid of any gunk, but advised electric guitar players not to be too overzealous in their maintenance.
"Just be careful not to damage the fretboard wood by cleaning too vigorously - my first electric guitar still bears the scars of me trying to scratch dirt off the fretboard when I was 13," Mr Hodgson stated.
Earlier this month, musician Joe Bonamassa told the East Anglian Daily Times that electric guitar players never stop learning new things about their instrument.
