Electric guitar band Foo Fighters see record sales hike
Electric guitar band Foo Fighters have enjoyed a huge hike in record sales, it has been revealed.
The alternative rockers saw a large increase in physical sales of their albums on Record Store Day 2011 on April 16th, with covers record Medium Rare being the most popular vinyl LP available for purchase on the day.
According to the Official Charts Company, the 180 independent record stores which took part in the one-off event experienced sales that were more than double the total of those achieved on the same day in 2010.
Spencer Hickman, co-coordinator of the music event, explained: "Record Store Day has been an overwhelming success. It seems to have struck a chord with artists, labels and music fans alike."
The legendary US rock and roll five-piece recently revealed they will be featuring at this year's upcoming iTunes festival in London on July 11th at the city's Roadhouse venue.
