Elbow to release new album in March
Indie band Elbow are to bring out their fifth album in spring 2011, it has been confirmed.
Lead singer Guy Garvey told BBC 6 Music the group have been hard at work in the studio completing the album, which is to be named Build A Rocket, Boys.
The LP will reach stores on March 7th next year, shortly before the band embark on an arena tour.
Speaking earlier this year, Garvey revealed the new songs on the record had been written specifically to be played in large venues.
"It's impossible not to consider where you're going to play your music live when you write it but it's been that way for a long time. We very arrogantly assumed we were going to be playing arenas very early on," the singer stated.
He added that the album had been partly inspired by bass guitar player Pete Turner having a baby daughter.
Elbow's arena tour will get underway in Glasgow on March 15th, with further dates planned in Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and London.
The run of gigs will come to a close on March 31st when the band play the O2 Arena in Dublin.
