Elbow name album 'Build A Rocket Boys'
Elbow have named their new album 'Build A Rocket Boys'.
The English indie group have announced the title of the follow up to their Mercury Prize winning 2008 album 'The Seldom Seen Kid', which they recorded over this year and will be released next March.
Singer Guy Garvey told radio station BBC 6 music: "I didn't know whether it was good or not for a couple of weeks, but I'm very happy with it now."
The singer has previously said the album had a working title of 'Lippy Kids' which described the lyrical themes he was working on, referencing growing up through teenage years.
He said: "It's quite a nostalgic thing. I've got a thing about growing up, not needing to, but a certain period of your life when - well kids are called 'hoodies' these days aren't they when they reach their teens. I remember it being an amazing important time, so I've written a lot about that."
Musically, the band - which also includes Mark Potter, Craig Potter, Richard Jupp and Pete Turner - have said 'Build A Rocket Boys' is influenced by the shoegaze and psychedelia genres.Posted on 22 Dec 2010 16:15 to category : Music News
