Elbow drummer praises Police legend
Posted on 14 Jan 2010 17:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News

The man who plays the drum kit for rock band Elbow has cited Stewart Copeland of The Police as one of his heroes.
Richard Jupp worked with the music veteran on a charity project designed to raise awareness of the current crisis in Sudan, which also involved Phil Selway, Jonny Quinn, Caroline Corr and Nick Mason.
Speaking to ClashMusic, Jupp said it was a real thrill to appear on the same track as Copeland, whom he described as an "incredible" musician.
"Stewart Copeland is one of my absolute heroes," he said.
Jupp went on to praise the rest of the musicians involved in the project, who have been described on the official press release as the world's most famous drummers.
"I still can't get my head around the fact that I'm in there," he added.
Elbow have now been together for two decades, but only enjoyed minor commercial success until their 2008 album The Seldom Seen Kid won the Mercury Music Prize.
