Ed Sheeran expects new album in 2014 at the earliest
The singer ruled out releasing a new album in 2013 due to a busy touring schedule, which includes an 84-date stint around the US, incorporating a run supporting Taylor Swift.
Sheeran told The Sun: "I'm on tour until September and this tour is so long I'll need a break afterwards. I've written 26 songs for the new album but it won't be released until early 2014 at the earliest."
It has been a highly successful 2012 for Sheeran as he continued to benefit from the overwhelming triumph of his debut album, +, which was brought out in September 2011.
He entertained fans all over the world during two sold-out tours across the UK, culminating in huge show at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo which took place in October.
He has also been involved in writing for high profile artists such as Swift and One Direction, with the latter scoring a number one for the Sheeran-penned Little Things.
