EVH Bring Out 5150 III EL34 Amp Head And Cab
Shred guitarist Eddie Van Halen had initially used a more hot-rodded Marshall-esque sound to deliver that 80s metal sound that revolutionised heavier music. And so the EL34 edition of the 5150 is more of a throwback to the iconic sound Eddie has brandished throughout his career.
The 5150 is a monster of an amp, which is why it is revered as the 'go to' metal amplifier due to its iconic gain structure and saturation. And with the introduction of the 5150 IIIS EL34 head it now offers that classic 5150 sound but with slightly different characteristics from smoother contours to greater sag and saturation.
Other features include a rear-panel resonance control section to adjust the amplifier's low-end for each channel as well as a bias testing and adjustment port. These fine tuning options means that you can tailor your amp to sound even hotter and meaner with ease.
The corresponding 5150 IIIS EL34 4x12 matching speaker cabinet will also be made available. Both the head and cab are estimated to be released late 2016.
