Posted on 22 Feb 2010 09:45 to category : Music News

Music lovers have been reassured that the legendary Abbey Road Studios are not to be sold.
Speculation had been rife about the future of the venue, with both electric guitar player Sir Paul McCartney and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber campaigning for its survival last week.
But owner EMI has now stated that it is not planning to get rid of Abbey Road Studios it just want to raise cash to "revitalise" it.
"Abbey Road studios has, for a number of years, been losing money and we have developed plans to revitalise the studios," a company statement said.
"These plans will involve a substantial injection of new capital."
Abbey Road studios are most famous as the site where The Beatles recorded most of their output including a 1969 album named after the building.
Last week, Beatles star and electric guitar player Sir Paul McCartney said he had many great memories of the studios and hoped their future would be secured.
