Duff McKagan 'has to adapt songwriting style for Jane's Addiction'
Posted on 15 Apr 2010 15:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Bass guitar player Duff McKagan has explained that he has had to adapt to a different way of working since joining Jane's Addiction.
The musician, who was previously in Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, explained the original songs he wrote for his new band followed the traditional verse-chorus-verse structure.
McKagan told Rolling Stone magazine that he soon learned a different approach was necessary, as many Jane's Addictions songs do not contain a chorus.
"It's just [a] riff and then it goes into some psychedelic jam," the bass guitar player.
"I've had to learn to sort of adapt as a songwriter."
McKagan added that he feels he is at his creative peak at the moment and is pleased to be getting the chance to work with such a renowned band.
He replaced Eric Avery on bass guitar in Jane's Addiction, who left the group last month following the completion of their tour of Australia.
