Drummers 'spend years finding ideal kit set-up'

People with a drum kit can sometimes spend years finding a set-up that suits them best, Gibson has noted.
According to the electric guitar manufacturer, many drummers struggle through lots of different configurations before identifying their favourite option.
Gibson said this is particularly true in the case of cymbals, as regular drum kit players can have a hard time finding those which make the sound they want.
"Any veteran drummer's cymbal set-up is an extremely personal matter - the result of years of failed courtships," it commented.
Gibson described cymbals as highly versatile instruments, as they can either "shriek like a banshee" or "whisper as softly as a tender maiden".
The company added that cymbals can complement the sound of a snare, bass drum and toms by providing "angelic harmony".
Gibson's comments come ahead of next month's world record attempt in the US to create the biggest drum ensemble in history.
