Drummers 'must be fit'
Posted on 6 Mar 2009 17:45 to category : Instruments News
To be a successful drummer, physical fitness is important, according to the former founding member of Blondie.

The aim of the conference was to examine the effects that paying drumming-based computer games can have on a musician's skills and ability.
Addressing students from music collage Platform One, Burke insisted that a good level of fitness is imperative for any drummer.
Agreeing with this statement, Platform One director David Pontin said: "Playing live is physically demanding and anything you can do to encourage healthy living in young musicians the better.
"You cannot go on a ten-date tour if you are not fit," he stressed.
Meanwhile, experts from the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health in Folkestone have found that drumming can have therapeutic effects for people suffering from stress and depression.
