Drummers join campaign for Sudan
Posted on 11 Jan 2010 11:59 to category : Instruments News

Some of the world's top rockers have got behind their drum kits to raise the profile of current problems in Sudan.
Nick Mason of Pink Floyd is among those who appears in a film called Beat for Peace on YouTube, along with Radiohead's Phil Selway and Stewart Copeland of The Police.
The video is part of the Sudan 365 campaign, which it is hoped will prompt world leaders to step up their efforts to stop Sudan slipping back into civil war.
Jamie Catto of Faithless, the man behind the project, told BBC 6 Music: "The drum is the oldest communication and music device.
"It's something anyone can join in with."
People across the world are being encouraged to upload their own beats to YouTube or the Sudan365 website to demonstrate the strength of international feeling.
Phil Selway added that music is a very powerful way of bringing people together.
This, he said, made him want to be involved in this particular project.
