Drummers get ready for Big Bang!! 09 May 09

The sound of drum beats will be resonating across the globe this May as musicians from around the world get out their drum kits for Big Bang!! 09 MAY 09.

Performances will take place throughout the day in numerous countries, including Japan, Kenya, the UK, Iceland and Canada.
The celebration will encompass all world cultures and traditions, raising awareness of global poverty, the effects of climate change and the importance of fair trade.
In the UK, events will take place at venues including the British Library and the Africa Centre.
Supporting Big Bang!! 09 MAY 09 and Fair Trade Fortnight are artists Annie Lennox and Sir Paul McCartney and drumming group Stomp.
Stomp is currently performing at the Ambassadors Theatre in London's West End.
