Doctors tell AC/DC singer to rest
Posted on 29th Sep 2009 13:38 to category Band / Celebrity News
AC/DC have been forced to put down their electric guitars and drum sticks, as singer Brian Johnson is recovering from a medical procedure.
The veteran rockers are about to start the US leg of their hugely successful Black Ice World Tour, in support of their first studio release since Stiff Upper Lip in 2000.
However, Johnson has been advised by doctors to rest for several days following his recent medical treatment.
As a result, the first six shows of the US tour, which was due to commence on October 1st, have had to be postponed to later dates.
The band, which features noted GibsonSG player Angus Young, will pick up the tour on October 16th in Washington.
AC/DC, who are best known for hits such as Highway to Hell and Long Way to the Top, performed in the UK and Europe earlier this year and will call at Australia and New Zealand in early 2010.
