Disturbed announce that they're putting the band on 'indefinite hold'
Disturbed have reassured their fans that the reasons for putting the band on "indefinite hold" are because of creative problems as opposed to any quarrels among band members.
The Chicago-based US heavy metal band, who know how to rock their music instruments loud and fast, said that said the current state of the music industry in general and more specifically the heavy metal genre were important factors in the decision to go on a hiatus.
Draiman, the band's lead singer, told Billboard: "The industry is still in a state of reformation; it is on the verge of collapse, in my opinion. It's a frightening time, and I think after ten to 12 years straight of touring it's just a good time for Disturbed to go away for awhile and wait for the Phoenix to rise from the ashes."
He added that there was no animosity among them and that not only did they still enjoyed working with each, they were still good friends.
That said, the band are looking forward to pursuing solo projects, with, for example, Dan Donegan looking to swap his electric guitar for music software as he moves into production.
Their breakout album was 2000's the Sickness, which catapulted them to public attention.
They have since sold 11 million records across the world.
