David Gilmour to play guitar on new Orb album
Posted on 19 Aug 2010 13:59 to category : Music News

The Orb have roped in former Pink Floyd guitar player David Gilmour to take part in recording sessions for their new album, it has been revealed.
Metallic Spheres will be released on October 4th 2010 and will feature the talents of Gilmour - who also used to sing for Pink Floyd - under the name The Orb featuring David Gilmour.
Parts of the album were recorded in 3D60, which creates a three-dimensional sound when the listener uses headphones to play the record.
According to Gilmour's official website, "the album features David's guitar and lap steel guitar, plus some of his vocals from Chicago".
Gilmour is best known for his work with Pink Floyd - with whom he reunited for the Live 8 gig in Hyde Park - although he has also worked with artists such as Bryan Ferry, Tom Jones, Sir Paul McCartney and Kate Bush in various guises, as well as performing live solo concerts.
